Last Years Activity

We hiked the PA Grand Canyon, stayed at Parker's Dam State Park, looked for Elk, and fished all along the way.

This kind of activity has been our once a year fun trip planned completely by the members of the Crew not the advisors.

2009 Summer Super Activity!

Venture Crew 1390 will go on our annual summer super activity. This annual activity is planned each and every year by members of the Crew. We then go on the trip and enjoy a week of fun and exciting activities that form a strong bond between us and allows us to make memories, and learn skills that will last a lifetime. WE GO RAIN OR SHINE.

This years activity is going to be fun and exciting. We are going to start our activity by attending Calumets annual International Camporee with the Boy Scouts from the McDonald Troop 1392. This will occur on Friday and Saturday at the Elk Lick campground. During the time at this campground we will spend time working our way through the challenging Canadian Roundhouse, enjoying patch trading, jeep rides, tank rides, and participating in the challenging Iron Scout competition.

Upon the completion of the camporee on Sunday we will then leave from the Boy Scouts and depart off to Indian Water Outfitters. This will then start our float trip part of the super activity. From Indian Waters we will pick up the canoes and then be dropped off at Kinzua Dam. From here we will start the trek of 26 miles down the Allegheny River ultimately ending our trip at Indian Water outfitters. Along the way we will be stopping on islands to camp and also at Buckaloons Campground to stay a night and clean up. While we are in the canoes floating down the river we will spend countless hours fishing and enjoying the scenery along the banks of the beautiful Allegheny River.
